Waterloo

The zone chief sets out his mission, his vision and his values in the zone security plan. These three points form the basis for the operation of the zone.

The Waterloo single-municipality zone, created in April 2001, has the equivalent of 96.60 full-time real posts. For the period 2009-2012, the policy of the Zone Security Plan revolves around the following priorities:

• controlling or reducing burglaries,
• controlling the phenomenon of urban crime,
• improving road safety,
• reducing rates of robbery with violence,
• controlling the phenomenon of violence within families,
• circulating information,
• ongoing training is also among the objectives.

More broadly, the police priorities also including looking at thefts and attempted thefts of and from vehicles, drug addiction, environmental crimes and offences relating to youth protection.
